Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had many skills, such as being able to act, direct and produce plays, as well as write them teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Her father is from Britain, while her mother is a "Turkish Cypriot-English expat." Anna's earliest memories involve attending rehearsals for plays as well as watching her mother's working.
