Nadia Elena Comaneci
At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, the athlete was a global sensation when she scored the first perfect ten in the sport's history. To add to that she scored six more perfect tens, making her the youngest overall Olympic gold medalist at just 14 years of age. Not only did Nadia Comaneci attracted attention from every angle however, she also assisted in helping Romania to establish itself on the map of the world. By achieving a score which was impossible to achieve the sport's icon helped bring gymnastics into the spotlight of global the spotlight. Additionally, it altered gender perception of female athletes. The effect of her performances during the Olympics is so significant that her toe movement (toe-on) and her release are named in honor of her. They are both considered extremely difficult movements. Besides Olympics the gymnast showed a remarkable results in the World Championships and European Championships as well, thus becoming a living legend in the sport and amongst the top-rated gymnasts anyone could achieve. While in the US she began to promote sports products and model in her new country after she left.
