Mitra, who is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Caryn Parkerson on some databases she made her debut on Underworld Rise of the Lycans in 2009. In 2009 she was cast in the role of Sonja who was the strong vampire elder Viktor. Mitra grew fondly of her vampire fangs throughout filming. She even refused to remove them because they were impossible to view. "I set the fangs up the very first day. I thought it was strange that they were in the first place. So I kept them in through the entire time of shooting, all through my dialogue as well as everything else." She also appeared in three episodes of Stargate Universe.
